CPE2015 / Special Session 03

Monitoring & Control of Electric Power Systems

Scope:
Efficiency of electric power plants depends on several factors. Among them, those related to monitoring & control of these power generating systems constitute an essential field of research. The scope of this special session goes around the use of technology to improve the performance and profitability of industrial facilities for the generation of electric power. Research dealing with development of novel control strategies is welcomed as well as work on monitoring and supervisory methods applied to industrial energy systems.
The intention of the organisers is to give an opportunity to academics, scientists and engineers from all over the world to come together in a pleasant location to discuss recent development in these areas.
Contributions to the session address but are not limited to:
  • Methods for control position of solar trackers.
  • Autonomous Inspection of electric power plants.
  • Surface analysis of solar through collectors and wind turbines blades.
  • Automatic hotspot detection in PV panels.
  • Control of Electric Power Systems.
  • EMS/SCADA.
  • Smart systems applied to monitoring and control of power plants.
  • Computer vision and pattern recognition applied to EPS.
  • Stability of power systems.
  • Fault detection in EPS
