Keynote 1: The Risings Prospects of Cloud Robotics

Imre J. Rudas graduated from Bánki Donát Polytechnic, Budapest in 1971, received the Master Degree in Mathematics from the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, the Ph.D. in Robotics from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1987, while the Doctor of Science degree from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2004. He received his first Doctor Honoris Causa degree from the Technical University of Košice, Slovakia and the second one from “Polytechnica” University of Timisoara, Romania.

He is active as a full university professor He served as the President of Budapest Tech from 2003 till 2010. He was elected in 2010 as the President of Óbuda University, the successor of Budapest Tech for a period of five years.

He is a Fellow of IEEE, Senior AdCom member of Industrial Electronics Society (IES), he served IES as a Vice-President in 2000-2001. He is the Junior Past Chair of IEEE Hungary Section, Vice-President of the Hungarian Academy of Engineering.

He served IFSA (International Fuzzy System Association) as Vice-President and Treasure for a period of 7 years, he had been the President of Hungarian Fuzzy Association for ten years.

He serves as an associate editor of some scientific journals, including IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, member of editorial board of Journal of Advanced Computational Intelligence, member of various national and international scientific committees. He is the founder of the IES Sponsored IEEE International Conference Series on Intelligent Engineering Systems (INES), IEEE International Conference on Computational Cybernetics (ICCC), IEEE International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI, since 2000), IEEE International Symposium on Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI, since 2003), IEEE International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics (SISY, since 2003), IEEE International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI, since 2004), IEEE International Symposium on Logistics and Industrial Informatics (LINDI, since 2007).. He has served as General Chairman and Program Chairman of numerous scientific international conferences.

His present areas of research activities are Computational Cybernetics, Robotics with special emphasis on Robot Control, Soft Computing, Fuzzy Control and Fuzzy Sets.

António Câmara obtained his BSc in Civil Engineering at IST (1977), MSc (1979) and PhD (1982) in Environmental Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. He was a Post-Doctoral Associate at MIT in 1983.
He is a Professor at the New University of Lisbon. He was a Visiting Professor at Cornell University (1988-89) and MIT (1998-99).
During his career, António Câmara supervised 35 PhD students, and published more than 200 papers and 4 books, including “Environmental Systems” by Oxford University Press in 2002. He has been the keynote speaker at more than 50 international conferences.
António Câmara is a co-founder and CEO of YDreams, and the Chairman of Ynvisible, YDreams Robotics and Azorean, three companies he also co-founded. The work of his companies has been covered by Wired, Fast Company, Forbes, Business Week, Economist, Time, New York Times, Guardian, Liberation, El Pais, Huffington Post, Engadget, Tech Crunch, Cool Hunting, Gizmodo, CNN, CNBC, France 24 and many other international and national media.
António Câmara is also a Member of the Board of Audience Entertainment and Semapa, and of the Roundatable of Entrepreneurs of the European Institute of Technology.
He received many national and international awards during his career, including Premio Pessoa 2006 in Portugal, and one of the European Entrepreneur Awards by the European Union in 2009.

Fransico Godinho

Keynote 3: Increasing Digital TV accessibility through Multiple Platforms

Francisco Godinho is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering at School of Science and Technology of University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD). It is also Coordinator of the Centre for Rehabilitation Engineering and Accessibility (CERTIC) and Director of the Undergraduate  and Master degree in Rehabilitation Engineering and Human Accessibility. Has 18 years of professional experience in this field. Holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, by UTAD, with a thesis in the field of Rehabilitation Engineering. His main scientific interests are related with Digital Inclusion, Assistive Technology and Training in Rehabilitation Engineering and Accessibility.

Among other initiatives, in 2003 was coordinator of the National Programme for the Participation of Citizens with Special Needs in the Information Society and, between 2006 and 2011, was the first President of SUPERA - Portuguese Society for Rehabilitation Engineering and Accessibility.

Has received several national awards and distinctions, including from the President of the Portuguese Republic, related to the work in the field of Information Society.

Miguel Sales Dias

Keynote 4: Natural and Multimodal Human-Computer Interaction: current experiments and future trends

José Miguel Sales Dias holds a bachelor (1985) and a master (1988) in Electrical and Computer Engineering (IST-UTL, Portugal) and a PhD in Computer Graphics and Multimedia (1998) from ISCTE-IUL where he was an Associated Professor until 2005, holding currently an Invited Associated Professor, teaching and conducting research in Computer Graphics, Virtual and Augmented reality, Ambient Assisted Living  and Multimodal Human-Computer Interfaces. Since November 2005, he is the Director of the first European R&D Centre in Speech and Natural User Interaction Technologies of Microsoft Corporation in Portugal (Microsoft Language Development Center, MLDC, http://www.microsoft.com/pt-pt/mldc. He is regularly commissioned by the European Commission for R&D project evaluations and reviews. Author of 1 patent, author, co-author or editor of 11 scientific books or journal editions, 12 indexed papers in international journals, 26 chapters in indexed international books, 144 other publications, workshops or keynotes in international conferences. Since 1992 he has participated or participates in 31 International R&D projects (ESPRIT, RACE, ACTS, TELEMATICS, TEN-IBC, EUREKA, INTERREG, FP5 IST-IPS, FP6 IST, ESA, Marie Curie, AAL, ACP), and 15 National (FCT, QREN, NITEC, POSC, POCTI, POSI, ICPME, TIT). He obtained 5 scientific prizes. He is a member of ACM SIGGRAPH, Eurographics, ISCA and IEEE; editorial boards of several journal; several Program Committees of National and International conferences in Computer Graphics, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Speech technologies, Accessibility and Ambient Assisted Living. He was President of ADETTI, an ISCTE-IUL associated R&D research center. He was Vice-president and Secretary of the Portuguese Group of Computer Graphics, Eurographics Portuguese Chapter. Born at December 1st 1961, happy father of three children, two girls and one boy.
